IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting & 50th Anniversary Conference

We are pleased to invite all IAUP members and the academic community worldwide to celebrate with us our Semi-Annual meeting "Higher Education in 2065" to be held on May 20-25, 2015 at Oxford and Wroxton, United Kingdom. The IAUP 50th Anniversary meeting will be held in Oxford at Trinity College and Wroxton College (Farleigh Dickinson University, Oxfordshire.) This will be a conference of historical importance for IAUP. The co-hosts of this conference will be Farleigh Dickinson University and Kyung Hee University, two of our IAUP founding institutions. Other sponsors include ELS and Seoul Cyber University.

11th International Conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities

The following event by one of our IAUP members may be of interest to many in higher education, especially those interested in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG,) a longtime IAUP member will host the 11th International Conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU,) on February 25-27, 2015. The Title of this conference is "100,000 Strong in the Americas: Challenges and Opportunities for a More Prosperous and Fair Hemisphere."

Many Languages, One World

Give your students the opportunity to speak at the United Nations!

We are pleased to announce that ELS and the United Nations Academic Impact global initiative are working together again to support the positive impact of multilingualism through the Many Languages, One World— Student Essay Competition and Youth Forum. Many Languages, One World is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for talented, bright multilingual students to present their perspective and opinions at the General Assembly of the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. This year’s essay topic asks students to research and reflect on the proposed sustainability goals of the United Nations post-2015 global development agenda.

LACHEC 2014

The following event by one of our IAUP members may be of interest to many in higher education, especially those interested in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Building up a communal environment for higher education has been related to factors like modernization, innovation and internationalization of educational systems supported by the principle of convergence. LACHEC 2014 version seeks to take up the principal initiatives developed on the region based on this purpose, and contribute as an academic scenario to the discussion about advantages, challenges and opportunities that this process might bring to the universities.

United Nations Lecture Series Named in Honor of J. Michael Adams

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon paid tribute to J. Michael Adams, former president of Fairleigh Dickinson University, at the launch of the new Conversation Series named in his honor.  Organized by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) program, which President Adams helped create, the J. Michael Adams Conversation Series each year will invite a globally renowned scholar to speak to, and interact with, the United Nations community on a subject of global significance and interest.
