The Executive Committee is chaired by the President of the Association or, in his absence, by a Vice-President, nominated by the President. It assists, advises and supports the President of the Association, and is the main forum for discussing and determining the IAUP’s structure, and its policies and strategies, both internally and externally.
The Executive Committee:
- issues policy and position statements on behalf of the Association
- approves the Association’s annual budget, as well as its audited annual accounts, which include the endowment fund
- formulates the bylaws to this Charter on any matter which it considers necessary and, in particular, for membership accreditation categories, criteria and fees as well as the granting of awards
- considers and settles the categories of membership of IAUP and their accreditation, determines the conditions for the granting of Awards on behalf of IAUP
- submits a proposal to the General Assembly, on candidates for the posts of Officers-Elect of the Association, and approves in this process, the composition of the Search Committee for President-Elect, on a proposal from the Association’s President
- approves the conference theme and program, the date and venue of IAUP Triennial Conferences
- approves the outline and structure of the Association’s annual report
- advises the Presidency on the Association’s regional divisions and organization
