Regional Councils and National Chapters
Regional Councils and National Chapters initiate activities open to members of IAUP, which maintain the global interaction and dynamism that characterize IAUP. Regional conferences support a range of inter-institutional collaboration, and IAUP members can actively participate in these conferences.

Executive Committee
The IAUP Executive Committee is a key element in its structure as it assists, advises and supports the Presidency; and is the main forum for discussing and determining the structure of IAUP and its policies and strategies, both internally and externally.
Council of Senior Advisors
The Council of Senior Advisors consult the Presidency over the most important issues relevant for IAUP at that time. IAUP reports from the Regional Councils are also reviewed.
Triennial Conferences
The IAUP celebrates its general assembly every three years in a different part of the world. Each triennial focuses on a specific theme and provides its membership with an opportunity to discuss challenges and changes that face higher education worldwide Traditionally these triennials have been addressed by world leaders and heads of state from outside academia.
