Harris, Lieberman Named Presidents-In-Residence

The Harvard Graduate School of Education has announced that David Harris, president of Union College, and Devorah Lieberman, president emerita of the University of La Verne, will join the Judith Block McLaughlin Presidents-in-Residence (PIR) Program for the 2025–26 academic year. As Presidents-in-Residence, they will mentor and teach students in HGSE’s Higher Education Concentration and the Online Master’s in Education higher education pathway, sharing their extensive leadership experience.

Harris, known for his strategic initiatives at Union College and prior roles at Tufts and Cornell, and Lieberman, recognized for her transformative leadership at La Verne, will guide emerging higher education leaders. The PIR program, established in 2001 and permanently endowed in 2023, continues to bring distinguished university leaders to Harvard to support and inspire the next generation of academic administrators.
