Membership in the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) is open to university presidents, rectors, and vice-chancellors of accredited institutions across the globe. Current university presidents, rectors, and vice-chancellors of accredited institutions
Former university leaders (as Associate Members)
Academic organizations and institutions (Affiliate Members)
Distinguished individuals in higher education (Honorary Members)
Each institution may designate two representatives as members, but only one holds voting rights in IAUP matters.
As an IAUP member, you will:
Participate in exclusive international conferences and leadership forums
Access leadership development programs and webinars
Contribute to global dialogue with UN, UNESCO, and CoNGO
Expand your university’s international visibility and partnerships
For current university presidents, rectors, or vice-chancellors of accredited institutions
Term: 3 years (July 1 – June 30)
Fee: High/Upper-Middle Income Countries: $2,400 (for 3 years)
Lower-Middle/Low Income Countries: Discounted rates (based on World Bank classification)
For former presidents, rectors, or vice-chancellors of accredited institutions
Same benefits as Full Membership, except no voting rights
Fee: Same structure as above
For academic organizations and institutions wishing to collaborate with IAUP
Fee: Varies by institution type
Awarded to individuals recognized for distinguished service to higher education
No fee

Membership fees are based on country income level and membership type. Once your application is approved, IAUP will provide bank wire transfer details.
